Advancement
Advancement is self-paced. Our Troop typically generates several Eagle Scouts (Boy Scout's highest rank) each year. Advancement is encouraged but not required. Most Scouts progress to First Class by applying themselves to the requirements, by attending the meetings and going on trips.
When
Scouts turn 14, they may dual register as both a Boy Scout and as a Venture Scout in our associated Venture Crew 566 or Crew
555. In the Venture Crew, Scouts participate in higher adventure trips including 10 day backpacking trips at the famous Philmont
Scout Reservation. In 2008, the Venture Crew will experience high adventure at the Florida Sea Base.
Through leadership activities and high adventure opportunities, our Troop often keeps Scouts involved to the maximum age of 18.
