Trips

We schedule nine weekend trips during the school year and three one-week summer camps. We also organize and conduct backpacking Mini-Treks open to all Scouts 1st Class and above.

Our Scouts completed the Saratoga to the Sea trek in 2016, starting at Sanborn Park, hiking over the mountains to the ocean at Waddell Beach. Adding in a few side hikes along the way, participants earned their 50-mile patches! In 2017, a crew of nine scouts and three adults went on a 33-mile trek in the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. In 2018, we headed to Northern Tier in Minnesota and canoed and fished in the Boundary Waters.

The troop is youth led. The Patrol Leaders Council chooses the locations and activities. We try to include two backpacking trips a year (most others are car camping trips), a snow camping trip or ski trip (these alternate), two peak hikes, a beach camping trip, a bike and water trip, and a wood fire trip where we cook over open fires.
